This hands-on technical training gives users the ability to setup and install a printer system with empasis on optimal support and repair.
Course Description: This hands-on technical training gives users the ability to setup and install a printer system with emphasis on optimal support and repair. This course is designed for service technicians who will be responsible for the maintenance and installation of the ZE500 in an applicator. Throughout the course you will be presented with "bugs" on your machine and asked to fix them. Topics will include hardware identification, best practices for installation, menu configuration, calibration, troubleshooting procedures, maintenance procedures. Students will be working with the ZE500 printers during this one-day training. Content not covered includes applicator setup, conveyors, or other parts of a print and apply system. Target Audience: Technical Repair Engineers or repair technicians. End-User technicians who need to support Zebra Printers in house. Course Objectives: By the end of the course, you will be able to: • Apply common print engine theory of operations: Identify different media types. Identify different print methods. Identify uses for different ribbon types. Identify the different communication options available on Zebra printers.• Test for and diagnose common problems by diagnosing bugs in class: Perform three "power on tests". Load ribbon and media in the printer. Calibrate the printer to the media and ribbon installed.• Use the menu to configure the printer.• Identify the control panel buttons and understand their function.• Perform in class common repair actions: Identify the major components of the printer. Identify the logic boards and main components located on them. Remove and replace the print head. Remove and replace the platen and feed rollers. Perform print head adjustments to achieve correctly printed labels.• Validate proper machine operation. Requisite Knowledge: Ability to work with basic hand tools to perform calibrations and replacement of parts. Knowledge of printer troubleshooting. Knowledge of print quality. Knowledge of printer environment for operation and data transfer. Requisite Requirements: None.
