We strive to collect as little data as possible and to be very straight-forward about the data we do collect and how we use it. We are not lying when we say that we value your privacy. As a small business, we do not want to compete against larger organizations for our customers. We know that virtually every large corporation trades data as a side-hustle. We understand how easy it is for corporations to build profiles and sell the data. We don't want Amazon directly targeting our customers for the products we sell. We do not have a side-hustle of selling data, nor do we purchase it. Survival instinct alone is enough reason to limit the data we share the bare minimum. However, we are human beings that want our privacy respected, so we also respect your privacy.

In order to increase our search engine optimization, we work with Google. Google collects the same type of information Google always collects, and a small amount of that data is shared with us in order to make the website more efficient and improve performance. To our knowledge, data is not collected by Google when you opt out via the provided popup form. In order to provide site functionality, we have to work with organizations for things such as hosting, caching/content delivery, transaction processing, shipping, and various other functions. It is necessary for these entities to collect data in order to provide their services, but we limit all data we share to the minimum requirement.

We try to prevent data from being scraped, but scammers are inventing new ways to steal data faster than we can implement strategies to defeat them. There is always a possibility that an organization like Amazon or Microsoft, or an independent scammer is working to steal data from us as you read this. Always be mindful of the data you share. When visitors leave comments on the site or submit requests for contact, we collect the data shown in the comments form. We also collect the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. We do not enable Gravatar on our website, but Automattic doesn't care if we don't want to use it. They force us to use it, requiring that we delete our entire Wordpress account to stop using it. That is one of many ways Automattic forces data to be shared. We don't want any of your data going to them and try our best to prevent it, but they are devising ways to compile data as fast as the scammers. The Automattic privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. If you post a comment, your profile picture (if you choose to provide it) is visible to the public in the context of your comment. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. More importantly, if you CAN upload to the website, please let us know. It is not our intention to allow uploads to the website (for security reasons). If you are able to upload to the site, it's probably going to be a long day for someone (me).

Anything you post is likely to be saved in a database we don’t even know about and considered the data of the scammer/organization who scraped it. Again, be careful of what you share.

We intend to keep details such as company names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and information related to what you purchased for as long as there is a chance to work with you. We may use that information to contact you directly, but it is never shared. We do not use 3rd party systems to market to our clients. Other than transactional data submitted to Cloud Storage, we never place your information in the possession of another entity for any reason. We would have to do this if we were legally required, but that has never happened, and we don't expect it. Even as it is saved online, it is encrypted. As much as we can help it, we do not work with companies who pretend to value data privacy but use the letter of the law to give them a legal right to build profiles and share them. We don't want cloud storage providers or hosting companies selling your information to companies 1,000 times larger than us. Their policies always start with phrases like, “We value your privacy”, which is a lie. Your privacy is so important to us that we actually spend time reading the privacy policies of the companies who provide vital services to us.

Cookies: I am sure they are used by most (if not all) the companies, who provide website services to us. I know the site can use cookies to help you navigate, but we do not use these or keep them (or even know how to use them or keep them). As far as I know, you have full control over cookies in the browser you use. Where we have access to such settings, we tell our service providers to respect browser headers. If your browser is set to display a DO NOT TRACK header, our partners should not us tracking cookies. I sure hope this is true. Maybe Google wants to chime in on that one.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. I sincerely hope that is true. It is true to my knowledge.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day. Really just buy something. No need to post. If you buy something, we KNOW how the data will be used and have been clear about that.

Embedded content from other websites

Assets on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. We do not know of anything currently on the site that would do this, but I will hopefully remember to edit this page if that ever changes. We do partner with some of the largest manufacturers in the world and data is a huge side-hustle for large corporations.

They may collect data about you when you visit our site even though we don't use that same data (or care to know how to) when you visit theirs. They may use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. They may even pay your nosy neighbor to keep an eye on you. It's sleazy. I hate it.

Who we share your data with

NOBODY! Our relationship with you is the most important thing to us. Not only do we not want to make you feel dirty and used by sharing your information, we value your privacy and respect you and love you and really want you all to ourselves. To be clear, and as previously stated, we work with companies that collect data to provide services to us. We do not SHARE data with them. We do not give your compiled data to anyone for any reason, other than to provide services to you such as order fulfillment.

How long we retain your data

As mentioned, the intent is to keep pertinent business data as long as possible. Any data used by the big guys will be kept for as short of a time as possible.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.. Website administrators (I'm guessing that's gonna be me for now) can also see and edit that information. You are always in control of it, though.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. For instance - if you place an order, we need to keep that data for business reasons. That includes your name, company name, billing/shipping addresses, phone number and the equipment you purchased. We cannot dump that data, but we will respect your right to break up with us, and won't get all stalker on you. We love you enough to hope your happy even if that means it is not with us.

Where your data is sent

Again, we don't WANT to send it to ANYONE! Data collected by our service providers is minimized. We do not and will never sell your data. The data we share is shared to provide essential services to you such as order fulfillment. Some of the cookies placed in your browser have nothing to do with us. These data-hungry bottom-feeders track us all around the internet no matter what we do to stop them. I don't want them collecting your data from this website. In fact, I'm probably more interested than you are about who is placing cookies in your browser from this website. Any information you can share with me that I haven't shared with you will be greatly appreciated!
